Build your own rugged and heavy duty Single PostHugger™ Brackets Pergola with our USA made 1/8″ steel corner brackets– in a Complete Kit for your convenience!
This listing is for use with your dimensional 4X4 (3.5″x3.5″) WOOD POSTS.
Each Kit includes a complete set of the following sized for your 4×4 wood posts:
- Four (4) Steel Outside Corner Brackets
- Four (4) Steel Bent L’s; and
- Option for Four (4) Steel 2-Piece Post Bases
The 12 Piece Double Pergola Kit INCLUDES FOUR (4) two-piece post bases; the 8 Piece Double Pergola Kit includes everything EXCEPT post bases (for instances where you’re setting your posts directly in concrete). Our brackets can be installed using any 1/2″ wood lag screws. If you use lag screws, we recommend 1/2″ x a minimum of a 2.5″ long lag bolt, with longer bolts adding more strength. [NOTE: THE 12PC DOUBLE PERGOLA KIT DOES NOT INCLUDE WOOD AND BOLTS/LAG SCREWS; you can pick them up at your local home improvement and hardware stores. AND NOW, FOR EXTRA STRENGTH, we’ve included an option in the drop-down choice menu to add to your 8Pc or 12Pc Kit our NEW, proprietary, Patent-Pending, 4- Piece MiterMAXX™ L Plate Set for Single Pergola Builds! Our MiterMAXX™ Plates make the installation of 45° mitered posts a breeze. Simply screw down each MiterMAXX™ plate to the flat/top surface of your upright posts. Now you have a steel shelf for your incoming mitered posts to rest on while you add brackets to connect your incoming horizontal posts to your upright. The flat plate is designed so that it extends beyond the area of the top post itself, thereby affording additional surface area of support for the incoming mitered (or lapped) member, and has holes for countersunk screws to hold it in place. (FOR THE MITERMAXX PLATES, WE’VE INCLUDED SMALL WOOD SCREWS. NOT INCLUDED ARE THE WOOD POSTS.) You gain an essential helping hand during your build and a solid steel layer permanently supporting your mitered cuts with a large area of steel rather than only 50% of the post remaining after your miter cut! Our PostHugger™ design is made even better because we use 1/8″ thick steel! The result: over 4 pounds of steel are used to tie together a single completed corner! The steel we use is thicker than a Quarter and a Dime stacked on top of each other. Also unlike others who just cut and ship steel right off their table, we take the time to hand debur and wire brush both the inside and outside of every piece. And all our PostHugger™ Brackets & metal artwork products are Made in America with American-Made Steel!

Please note that all brackets ship as raw, unpainted steel. You can order them from us with a black powder coat, paint them the color of your choice, finish them with a clear coat, or allow to achieve a natural rust patina over time. ***Powder Coated Brackets: If ordering brackets in the black powder coat, please allow an additional 1-2 days for shipping & delivery.***
