Build your own rugged and heavy duty PostHugger™ Pergola with our USA made 1/8″ steel brackets which have a SLOPE OF 6:1– for those of you who wish to make a pergola with a sloped roof!!
Also great for fixing/reinforcing the one you already have! These are not flimsy/bendable metal. We make them using 1/8″ thick steel – a single corner bracket weighs over 2 pounds – – strong enough to take what you throw at it (or what you throw it at!), but not so heavy where they are hard to work with. And all our PostHugger™ Brackets & metal artwork products are Made in America with American-Made Steel! We are the original designer of the PostHugger™ brackets, which may be copied, but never equaled! 🙂 If you find a PostHugger™ knockoff, give us a chance to meet or beat their price.
Sloped Outside Corners, T’s and Ls, all made to fit 4×4 (3.5″x3.5″) posts and beams, are available here! This listing is for your choice of any of the following sloped brackets, sold separately in the drop-down menu:
- A set of four (4) Outside Corner brackets, OR
- A single Sloped Flat T bracket, OR
- A 4-pack of Sloped Flat T brackets, OR
- A 4-Pack of Sloped Bent L brackets.
NOTE: If you buy Just Corners you will not also get T’s or L’s. Likewise, If you buy just T’s you will not also get Corners or L’s.
Our brackets can be installed using any 1/2″ wood lag screws or 1/2″ thru bolts. If you use lag screws, we recommend at least 1/2″ x 2″ length. WOOD AND BOLTS/LAG SCREWS ARE NOT INCLUDED WITH OUR BRACKETS; you can pick them up at your local home improvement and hardware stores.
You can order them from us with a black powder coat, paint them the color of your choice, finish them with a clear coat, or allow to achieve a natural rust patina over time. ***Powder Coated Brackets: If ordering brackets in the black powder coat, please allow an additional 1-2 days for shipping & delivery.***
Outside Corner Sloped Brackets: These are bent at a 90 degree angle to fit over any 4 x 4 post (3.5″ x 3.5″). There are two 1/2″ holes on each of the top ears for fastening to cross members and four 1/2″ holes on the bottom leg for mounting to the legs. (The holes for the legs are offset so that if you want to thru bolt, you don’t have to worry about hitting any of the other installed bolts!)
Flat T Sloped Brackets: Used to join/attach two incoming horizontal posts which are resting on top of an upright/vertical post.
Bent L Sloped Brackets for Inside Corners: Used as an inside corner, either alone or in conjunction with an Outside Corner to make a steel/post/steel sandwich for aesthetics and/or additional strength.
