Build your own rugged and heavy-duty ULTIMATE 1000 LB. CAPACITY ROLL AROUND SHOP/GARAGE WORKBENCH TABLE USING YOUR 4X4 POSTS with our USA made 1/8″ thick steel outside corner brackets and our post-to-wheel end brackets with welded on, locking & rolling wheel! Each wheel is rated at 250 pounds for an impressive half ton of rolling around ability for four of these! Each Kit includes the following:
- Eight Heavy-Duty 1/8″ Thick Steel Outside Corner Brackets
- Four 1/8″ Thick Steel Wheel Brackets with Welded-On Locking/Swivel Wheels – rated for 250 pounds per wheel for a total of 1000 pound capacity.
- OPTIONAL: FREE BONUS of a Dozen (12) Small Bent L’s in natural steel for use as shelf brackets on the bench or elsewhere! (Just choose the option with the Free Bonus at checkout.) Each leg of the Small Bent L’s measures 2.5″H x 3.375″L.
That’s Four Corners for the top; Four Corners for a lower level support/shelf; and Four Bolt-On Castor Brackets! Designed for standard 4×4 (3.5″x3.5″) posts. Plus the option to receive 12 Small Bent L’s! (You will need to pick up your 4×4 Posts/Legs and bolts for your build at Home Depot/Lowes/ACE or another home improvement store.)
The wheel is 3″ and is mounted to a castor/ball bearing assembly having an overall height of 4-1/4”. We weld that assembly onto our bracket, which raises the height of the post by the 1/8″ thickness of the steel bracket, for a total distance from the ground to the bottom of the post of 4-3/8″.
Build tip: When designing your build, be sure to keep the bottom shelf brackets at least 4″ up from the bottom of the corner posts so that your Bolt-On Castor Brackets can be attached to the legs.
These wheels will not shear off like other castors when you roll around your heavy cart or hit a rock. Nope! They are 1/8” thick steel frames with welded-on locking castors! We use all locking castors so it is easy to find to step on & lock. Because they are step-lock, when you need to unlock, just lift lever with top of shoe. A lot easier than the kind with a mid-wheel pivot lock where you have to use your hand. There are two 1/2″ holes on each of the top ears for fastening to your 4×4 leg. (The holes for the tables legs are offset so that if you want to thru bolt, you don’t have to worry about hitting any of the other installed bolts!)
All our brackets can be installed using any 1/2″ wood lag screws or 1/2″ thru bolts. If you use lag screws, we recommend 1/2″ x 2.5″ or 3” length. Home Depot and Lowe’s sell them in packs of 25 for a fair price. If you choose to thru bolt, go at least 1/2″ x 4.5″. WOOD AND BOLTS/LAG SCREWS ARE NOT INCLUDED WITH OUR BRACKETS; lifestyle customer photos depict build/use variations only.
Note: Actual color of polyurethane wheel may vary from bright red depicted to a darker red, depending on our supplier. However, all swivel wheel brackets sets will contain the same lot color.
We also make Corner Brackets, Flat T brackets for joining other parts of your design, and Bent L’s for use as inside corners. And we make a Legless T™ (no vertical leg), and a Flat L (which is Flat like the T, but without the extra short leg).
