This listing is for a set of 34 or 38 Brackets for a Timber-Topped Partial Hexagon — for DIYs where you want to make only part of a hexagon with 4 legs instead of typical 6 legs for a complete hexagon, plus a timber top rafter roof/overhang like the photos.
The 34 Piece Four Leg Bracket Set includes the following:
- 4 Flat T’s;
- 2 Left Under Arm Brackets;
- 2 Right Underarm Brackets;
- 2 Inside Brackets;
- 2 Outside Brackets; and
- 22 Timber Top Brackets (let us know if you need more).
The 38 Piece Four Leg Bracket Set includes all the same brackets as the 34 Piece Set, plus one additional set of the Left/Right/Inside/Outside brackets so that an additional leg can be installed. Our PostHugger™ design is made even better because we use 1/8″ thick steel! The result: over 10 pounds of steel are used to tie together a single completed corner! And while other manufacturers’ styles fail to attach to the uprights on more than one side, our PostHugger™ Kit bolts onto three sides of each upright!
Note these sets are only for the connecting brackets – not any swings, bases, or other hardware – – just the brackets to connect the upright posts to the horizontal beams and the top timbers to the horizontal 2x6s.

ASSEMBLY: Your inside posts will use four brackets each at the top (outside, left underarm, right underarm, and an inside bracket). Your two outside posts will use two Flat T’s each — one for the inside and one for the outside. The holes line up on the Flat T’s and the Timber Top Brackets so you can bolt all the way through and make a steel/post/steel sandwich.
Our brackets can be installed using any 1/2″ wood lag screws or 1/2″ thru bolts or the Simpson Outdoor Accents Screw/Nut combos. If you use lag screws, we recommend at least 1/2″ x 2″ length. WOOD AND BOLTS/LAG SCREWS ARE NOT INCLUDED WITH OUR BRACKETS; you can pick them up at your local home improvement and hardware stores. Customer photos depict build/use variations only.

Please note that these ship as raw, unpainted steel unless you choose the black powder coat option. You can order them from us with a black powder coat, paint them the color of your choice, finish them with a clear coat, or allow to achieve a natural rust patina over time.
